Athletes are chosen by their contributions through the entire sports year; Fall, Winter and Spring. Each winner receives a certificate and a 100 dollar educational stipend.

This week’s honor goes to Brittany Pfaff and Bri Fowler. Both have had big weeks. Fowler on Tuesday night against Flint Hills Christian scored 18 points in her final ballgame on the home court; the night prior she scored half of her team’s points against Centre.
Pfaff has a great week as well; last week she averaged 16 points; 5 assists; 4 rebounds and 3 steals per game in wins over Clifton/Clyde and Frankfort. She backed that up with a 13 point performance in a loss to Hanover Tuesday. Add to this a 4th place finish in the Clay Center Power Lifting Meet in her weight class; a heck of a week.
This week’s Blue Heron Athlete of the Week goes to both Wakefield’s Bri Fowler and Blue Valley’s Brittany Pfaff!

Hale has been instrumental all season in the Wildcats success; a (5-2) TVL mark and a (10-4) record on the year. Her latest big night saw Josie go for 20 points in a 37-30 win over Onaga. That’s 20 of the 37 points Frankfort scored on the night. Hale hit 7 buckets and went 6-6 at the free throw stripe. The 5’7 Senior Lady Tiger helped lead her team to the Twin Valley League Championship by throwing in 47 points in the 3 games combined…capping it off with a 27 point performance in the Championship game against B&B. Stegman and the talented Lady Tigers are currently ranked #1 in the 2A State Rankings and undefeated on the season.

This week’s Blue Heron Athlete of the Week is Frankfort Wildcat Callahan Brown…who went on a shooting streak the last two games. In the two games combined against Washington County and Rossville Brown has put up 49 points. He lit it up for 28 against the Tigers in a 45-41 loss; then came back to score 21 with a win over the Bulldgogs 64-50. While knocking down only one three-pointer; Brown has created and scored from everywhere on the court. 49 points in two games; Callahan Brown is the Blue Heron Athlete of the Week!
