Don’t let your Spending be Scary
Total Halloween spending for 2012 was expected to top $8 billion, with the average family spending $80, up from $72 last year. But when you consider that Halloween tends to kick off a very expensive part of the year, being able to save any amount of money can be helpful for your family’s budget. Now is the time to pick up some fun Halloween décor for next year. Ghosts and goblins never go out of style. And while it might be difficult to buy costume for kids a year ahead of time, you could easily find a fun costume for you! There are tons of great couple’s costumes or something scary, funny, or sexy for yourself (no matter what you are looking for!) And if you plan ahead, you won’t spend next October 30th searching the Internet for ‘Easy Halloween Costumes’ – like I was!
Not to mention, now is a great time to stock up your candy dish! Your co-workers won’t mind when that tootsie roll they just stole was purchased.
And of course, Halloween is just one example of a decorating theme with a deadline. You could do the same thing for other holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, or Easter.
Do you have any tips on how to save money for those special times of the year?
