CCCHS Junior Gentry Hartman, daughter of Kevin and Audie Hartman, from Clay Center, came away a champion at the 2025 Kansas Junior Livestock Show (KJLS) in the inaugural Supreme Female Drive Division that took place October 3rd through the 5th. Hartman showed in the ‘percentage Simmental heifer class,’ with Dorothy Cline of Marshall County taking reserve champion.
This was the first time KJLS hosted the Supreme Female Drive in its 93-year history, showcasing the important role that breeding females play in the livestock industry.
This year, over 700 exhibitors from across the state showed nearly 1,500 head of livestock.
A month earlier, Hartman was crowned reserve champion in the same division during ‘The Grand Drive’ at the Kansas State Fair. Along with cattle, Hartman is also an accomplished exhibitor of sheep.
