Due to the rapid loss of wildlife habitat throughout the years, the Republic Valley Ringnecks Pheasants Forever Chapter started a Habitat Program in an effort to grow and conserve wildlife habitat that has been lost over the years.

Morgan Cannizzo, a Pheasants Forever member, said the Chapter will help landowners with the cost of adding wildlife or pollinator habitat on their land.

“We started a Habitat Program a couple years ago. So, if anybody knows anyone who would be interested in putting some food plots or pollinator plots at their house or farm, you have to apply, and we can possibly do a cost share of the project.”

The Chapter also lends out equipment to farmers and landowners who are looking to add habitat plots on their land.

“We have a fire rig, a drip torch for burning, and a drill that you can pull behind a four-wheeler, a Ranger UTV, or even a small tractor.”

“If you do want to put in a habitat plot, we have the equipment for you to use on top of the cost share program.”

The Republic Valley Ringnecks Chapter covers all of Clay County. To learn more about the Habitat Program, contact Cannizzo or Kristin Kloft.
