CCCHS Hall of Fame Class of 2022 to be Inducted Monday

Clay Center, Kan. — Two individuals have been selected for induction in the Clay Center Community High School Hall of Fame class of 2022. The two chosen were Forrest Hartner and Nicole Ohlde-Johnson.

Principal of CCCHS Bud Young says to be selected a 12-member committee reviews each person’s packet.

Forrest Hartner was a farmer/stockman, a custodian at CCCHS and at Garfield Elementary School, and, upon retirement, a bus driver for the school district. Superintendent Young explained the reasoning behind the choice.

According to the Hall of Fame Committee, the other selection, Nicole Ohlde-Johnson, was one of the most talented athletes to ever attend the high school in Clay Center. The superintendent said her selection was due to what she has done for the Clay Center Community youth and beyond.

After her high school career on the basketball team she went on to earn All Conference for three years and Big 12 Player of the year in 2003 and 2004. Both of those years she was also a Kodak All American as well. Following her collegiate career, she played basketball professionally in the US and overseas. She now coaches at Kansas Newman College in Wichita.
