Governor Laura Kelly and Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Secretary Calvin Reed announced nine new highway modernization and expansion projects in Lindsborg. The projects, totaling more than $442 million, are now entering the Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program (IKE) construction pipeline. This marks the fourth round of projects added under the Kelly administration’s bipartisan 10-year IKE program.

At the announcement, Secretary Reed emphasized the role of partnerships and community involvement in the program’s continued success. One highlighted project, the reconstruction of K-4 and Bethany Drive in Lindsborg, will create a more functional and welcoming entrance to the city from I-135 while removing an aging bridge and reducing long-term maintenance needs.

Stakeholders attending the event included Lindsborg Mayor Clark Shultz, Osborne County Commissioner Craig Pottberg, and Wichita Public Works Director Gary Janzen. Governor Kelly noted that KDOT has met mid-program targets in all six geographic regions, reflecting the IKE program’s progress statewide.
