The Florida Vibe closed out the KC Pro Softball Series with two wins on Friday, June 13, at Blue Valley Northwest High School. In Game 5 of the showcase, the Vibe defeated the New York Rise, 11-7, in a high-scoring matchup. The Vibe followed up with a 4-0 shutout victory in the final game of the event.
The three-day showcase featured the Kansas City Diamonds, Florida Vibe, and New York Rise—three professional fastpitch teams playing a six-game series from June 11–13. The event was led by former Kansas City Royals All-Star Billy Butler, who coached the new local team, the KC Diamonds.
The series gave Kansas City softball fans a chance to see top-level play and former Division I athletes. Organizers hope the turnout will help support bringing a permanent pro softball team to the metro in the future.
