Royals Land Three Finalists for 2025 Gold Glove Awards

The Kansas City Royals were well represented among the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award finalists, announced Wednesday on X. Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., third baseman Maikel Garcia, and center fielder Kyle Isbel each earned nominations after standout defensive seasons.

Witt, last year’s Gold Glove winner, led all Major League shortstops with a +25 Outs Above Average. Garcia ranked first among American League third basemen with 13 Defensive Runs Saved and +17 OAA, while Isbel finished with +12 OAA in center field.

Winners will be revealed Nov. 2 on ESPN, with votes split between MLB managers, coaches, and the SABR Defensive Index. The Royals are seeking multiple Gold Gloves for the second straight year, underscoring the club’s continued focus on defense and athleticism across the diamond.
