4:30PM UPDATE: Per the police report, it appears that the driver was heading West, stopped at the stop sign of 9th and Prospect, then proceeded hitting the pedestrian. A citation was issued. We do not have an update on the condition of the minor at this time. Continued prayers for all involved.

A middle school student was hit this morning in a crosswalk on 9th St, at approximately 7:58am, on their way to school. The student was transported to Clay County Medical Hospital with unknown injuries. This is a developing story and will update when information becomes available.
