Kansas State cross country wrapped up its regular season Friday at the Pre-National Invitational, where both teams showed steady progress heading into the postseason.
The K-State women finished 19th with 543 points, while the men placed 25th with 672. Senior Cecilia Fisher led the women, finishing 61st in a personal-best 20:40.6 — the eighth-fastest 6k in school history. Sophomore Stella Miner followed in 82nd at 20:56.3, ranking 13th all-time at K-State.
On the men’s side, sophomore Jackson Esquibel led the Wildcats in 80th place with a time of 24:26.6, moving up to No. 15 in the program’s 8k record book. Sophomore Brock Olsen (25:02.1) and freshman Logan Beckman (25:17.7) rounded out the top three finishers.
K-State next competes in the Big 12 Championship on Oct. 31 at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence.
