Kansas State’s eight-game winning streak over Texas Tech ended Saturday with a 43–20 loss at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The Wildcats trailed 12–7 at halftime but couldn’t keep pace as the Red Raiders scored on six straight possessions and forced five turnovers.
Quarterback Avery Johnson accounted for all three K-State touchdowns, passing for 199 yards and rushing for 88, including a 46-yard score. His nine-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Oakley cut the deficit to 29–20 early in the fourth quarter, but a fumble returned for a touchdown and an interception sealed the game for Texas Tech.
The loss dropped K-State to 4–5 overall and 3–3 in Big 12 play. Linebacker Austin Romaine led the Wildcats with 11 tackles and an interception. Kansas State heads into a bye week before returning to action with three games remaining in the regular season.
