Elijah Collins and his wife, Greta, recently moved to the Clay Center area and are bringing an exciting new business for local dog owners. Collins, a professional hunting dog trainer, is launching Flying C Kennels, with plans to open in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Flying C Kennels will offer a wide range of services for both hunters and regular pet owners. Collins spoke about his new business.

“At Flying C Kennels, we specialize in retriever training. Gun dogs are our main focus, but we also prep dogs for hunt tests and offer some obedience training for all breeds.”

“On top of that, we’ll offer a clean, comfortable boarding setup for when you need someone you can trust to care for you and your dog while you’re away.”

“Whether it’s polishing a hunting companion or teaching basic manners, we’re here to help your dog reach its full potential.”

Collins said his passion for training dogs came during his time working on a pheasant preserve.  He then trained professionally in South Dakota at Patriot Retrievers, solidifying his desire to pursue this career.

The kennel, which is currently being built on their land, will offer boarding for dogs of all sizes. Collins said they are just beginning to break ground.

“We are breaking ground on the kennel this week. We actually just started framing.”

“We’re aiming to be up and running by Thanksgiving. So, if you’re traveling for the holidays or thinking about getting your dog into training this winter, now’s a great time to get in touch.”
