The Clay County Arts Council has announced that ‘Lyin’ Eyes, A Tribute to the Eagles,’ is returning to the Rex Theatre in Clay Center this Saturday, November 8th, with showtime set for 7:00 p.m.

Based out of Missouri, the band has been together for over four decades, performing Classic Rock Hits across the region.  Vocalist and guitarist Barry Poe said Lyin’ Eyes came about in the mid-2000s.

“In 2008 or 2009, one of the Booking Agents we use contacted us and asked us if we would consider starting a Tribute Band. That’s when the Tribute Band thing really started taking off.”

“As a band, we talked about it and thought about what would fit us best.”

“We chose the Eagles band because we had many similarities. We already had two guitarists and multiple lead singers; all we needed was a keyboard player.”

“So, we added a keyboard player and started learning Eagles songs.”

Attendees can listen and sing along to familiar hits such as Hotel California, Desperado, Take It To The Limit, and more.

“One of the things about the Eagles is they have got so many hits that you don’t have to have a lot of filler to fill out a show.”

“People are going to know song after song after song. They’ll be able to sing along with us and all that kind of stuff that the crowd likes to do.”

Tickets can be purchased at the door the evening of the concert. Admission is free for students and Arts Council members. Enjoy an evening of fun and music this Saturday at the Rex Theatre.
