Clay County Positions to sit on Citizen’s Review Committee

 
Clay Center, KS- At the Clay County Board of Education meeting Monday, from the recommendation by the Education Consulting Service the board discussed the development of a citizen’s review committee.
It was agreed upon that the committee would include the following members:

  • Superintendent
  • Two Board Members
  • Clay County Economic Development Director
  • Wakefield City Representative
  • Hospital Representative
  • Secondary Education Representative
  • Elementary Education Representative
  • Parks and Recreation Representative
  • Wakefield Business Leader
  • Clay Center Business Leader
  • Early Childhood Representative
  • Area Agency on Aging Representative
  • County Commissioner

The board president, Apryl Peerson appointed Andy Auld and Linda Sleichter, both of Clay Center, to serve as the Board of Education representatives on the committee. Brett Nelson, Linda Sleichter, and Andy Auld will present a list of prospective committee members at the next board meeting, which is scheduled for March 14th.
The committee will decide which of the 10 recommendations made by a private consultant back in January to implement within the district. To this point no decisions have been made in regards to those recommendations.
