The Medicare Open Enrollment Period is now through December 7th. This is an annual opportunity for Medicare beneficiaries to make a change to either their Part D prescription drug coverage or Medicare Advantage Plan. Any changes made during Open Enrollment 2025 will go into effect on January 1, 2026.
Medicare beneficiaries may:
- Join a Medicare drug plan if you’re in Original Medicare.
- Switch from one Medicare drug plan to another if you’re in Original Medicare
- Join, drop, or switch to another Medicare Advantage Plan (or add or drop drug coverage).
- Switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan.
It is important for all Medicare beneficiaries to take a moment during Medicare Open Enrollment to check coverage as Part D prescription drug plans and Part C Advantage plans can and typically do change each year, including premiums, deductibles, co-payments, co-insurance, and coverages.
