Obituary-Betty M. Spellman

Betty M. Spellman, 95 died February 18, 2023, in rural Clay Center, KS.  She was born on October 5, 1927, in Clay County, the daughter of James and Anna (Smith) Morley.  Betty was raised in Clay County and was a Class or 1945 graduate of Clay Center High School.  She married Dale Spellman on December 14, 1947, and they farmed in Clay County.  Betty was a member of the Hayes United Methodist Church and later the Clay Center United Methodist Church.  Dale preceded her in death on February 2, 1994.  Betty was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and 4-H leader for the Hayes Booster Club. She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Virginia.

Son: Mark and wife Teresa Spellman of Clay Center, KS

Brother: James and wife Jody Morley of Bartlett, TN

5 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren

Funeral Services: 10:30AM Friday, February 24, 2023, at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, KS

Minister: Rev. Reuben Langat, Ph.D.

Burial: Ebenezer Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas

Visitation: 5-7 PM Thursday, February 23, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
