Obituary-Carolyn Sue “Nana” Knorr

Carolyn Sue “Nana” Knorr, age 72, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

She was born on February 3, 1950 in San Diego, California, the daughter of LaVonne Franklin and Mary Louise (Herrod) Bird.  She was one of seven children.

She is survived by four daughters, Marlo Hoffman and husband Josh, Danyale Knorr, Lisa Bailey and husband Daniel, Mari Graham and husband Shannon; thirteen grandchildren, Boo Boo, Devin, Sissy, Hanny Banany, Bubby, Randi Pants, Timmer, Kelli bug, Lizard, Emmy Lou, Davey boy, Annie, and Brooky Bear; four great grandchildren and one sibling, Pamela Hernandez of Santee, California.

 

She worked in a variety of jobs throughout her life, but always enjoyed working and volunteering at the Leonardville Nursing Home.  Her grandchildren were her life. Nana was a free spirit. She was an incredible storyteller with the gift of humor. Her creative side was displayed by her arts and crafts and drawings. Nana was authentic, a genuine human, a comedic hippie, a bona-fide gladiator, and the matriarch of the pinky clan. PINKY!! The Nan, the myth, the legend!!

 

Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life to be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Alert Covenant Church.  Private family inurnment will be in the Leonardville City Cemetery.

In honor of Nana’s love for Jesus, a memorial fund is established for Alert Covenant Church.  Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
