The Geary County Food Pantry has received a $60,750 award in Kansas Community Service Tax Credits from the Kansas Department of Commerce. The award allows individuals and businesses to make a direct impact on fighting hunger in the community while receiving significant state tax benefits. Donations made through this program qualify for a 50% Kansas income tax credit—meaning a $1,000 contribution provides a $500 credit toward the donor’s state tax liability.

Because the total amount of available tax credits is limited, contributions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The Food Pantry encourages early participation to maximize the community’s benefit from this opportunity.

Those interested in donating or learning more about the program can contact any Geary County Food Pantry Board Member or Food Pantry Director Debbie Johns.
