The Junction City Fire Department (JCFD) swiftly responded to an emergency call regarding a struck gas line main in the vicinity of Sioux (Soo) Street and N. Kaw Drive earlier today at approximately 10:59 AM.

JCFD officials have confirmed that a gas main line was accidentally hit, prompting immediate notification to KS Gas for further assistance.

In order to ensure public safety, evacuation measures are being undertaken, and barricades will be set up around the affected area.

Authorities urge residents and passersby to steer clear of the scene until further notice. Repair operations are expected to take approximately four hours, during which time JCFD and KS Gas personnel will be working diligently to restore normalcy and eliminate any potential hazards.
