Obituary-Helen M. Tyree

Helen M. Tyree, 83 of Leonardville, Kansas died on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the Clay County Medical Center.  She was born on July 2, 1940 in Blue Rapids, Kansas, the daughter of William and Delia (King) Worthington.

Helen grew up and attended schools in Blue Rapids.  She married Thomas “Tom” Tyree on March 6, 1970.  Helen managed the Eastgate Apartments in Clay Center and also operated the Rex Theater.  She was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.   She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Dorothy Aiken and Erma Beaver.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Tyree of Leonardville, Kansas; son, Jim and wife, Tamara Ferguson of Trenton, Georgia; three daughters, Deb and husband, Dean Dunn of Clay Center, Kansas, Michelle Stephan of St. Louis, Missouri and Pam and husband, Steven Lilley of Clay Center, Kansas; 13 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday,  July 8, 2023 at 11:00AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July  8, 2023 from 9:30AM until service time at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leonardville Nursing Home c/o the funeral home.
