KDWP (Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks) is offering a unique opportunity for hunters this fall through a free draw. The Special Hunts program provides access to land that is typically off-limits, with above-average success rates. Unlike expensive hunting leases, this program offers hunters the chance to participate without any charge. The hunts take place on both public and private lands, including select refuge areas, and cover various species such as deer, upland game, waterfowl, doves, turkey, and furbearers. To participate, hunters must apply online and will be selected through a random drawing. The application period is currently open, and the draws will take place in August, September, and December.
