Football season is currently in full swing at Clay Center Community High School (CCCHS). If you have gone to a football game recently, you might have noticed that the student section from Clay Center seems to be following a theme with how they are dressed.

That’s because they are.

Emma Frigon (Communications Manager) and Isley Lee (Social Media Manager) are both members of Student Council, or Stuco, at CCCHS. They shared with us that this is a way for Stuco to get students involved at games. At the beginning of the season, they brainstorm ideas for themes and select their favorites. Then, they encourage students to dress up. Some themes they have chosen include Pink Out, Jersey Night, Construction, and USA. Students often get very involved and even make signs to support the team.

Both students expressed how they think this is a great way to get students involved and help them feel like they are part of the high school community. “It’s also nice because it sets the student section apart from the rest of the crowd each game,” Isley shared.

Theme nights have proven to be a big hit over the years and will likely continue for other sports as well, such as basketball.
