First Presbyterian Church offers Thanksgiving Meals to the Community

By Trish Svoboda

Thanksgiving is almost here, and to help make sure everyone has the option of a warm dinner, the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center is opening its doors to the community from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for anyone in need of a Thanksgiving meal.

Holly Chestnut, with the Presbyterian church, has volunteered every year for nearly 30 years helping provide meals to those who need it on Thanksgiving.

Holly talks about where the food comes from and who prepares it.

The church also delivers the meals.

Holly said that the church usually delivers around 250 meals, and sees about the same number come in to enjoy their dinner.

To have a meal delivered, or to volunteer, you can call the First Presbyterian Church office at 632-4578.
