The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) announced $3 million is available for cooperative agreements to educate underserved, small-scale, and organic producers on risk management and climate-smart practices.

These Risk Management Education Partnerships fund organizations, such as nonprofits and land grant universities, to develop training and resources for producers. In 2023, RMA played a role in providing the largest farm safety net in history, amounting to $207 billion in protection for American agriculture.

The agency also introduced new programs to support a wider range of producers. The $3 million investment builds on the $13 million provided in partnerships since 2021, supporting education tools for managing long-term risks in agriculture. Interested organizations can apply for funding through grants.gov by March 4, covering various risk management training activities.
