The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in Junction City has been scheduled for Monday, January 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the C.L. Hoover Opera House.
“Fueled by Faith” is the theme for the event.
The keynote speaker will be Kenyon ‘KJ’ Ladson Jr., Youth Minister and Musician. Other speakers will include the chair of the Martin Luther King Committee, Daphne Maxwell, and the Community Charge from Brewel Currie. There will be presentations on the Coretta Scott-King Courage Award and the Black History Trails of Geary County.
Following the ceremony, there will be a Commemorative March on 7th and 8th Streets downtown. Admission to the Ceremony is free to the public.
