KHP Warns Drivers to Slow Down After Patrol Vehicle Hit in Concordia

By Payton Tholstrup

Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers (KHP) are warning drivers to slow down; roads are still icy and snow-packed in many areas.

On Wednesday, January 17th, KHP announced that Lt. Jon Eilert was driving his patrol vehicle near the south side of Concordia, KS at Highway 81, and College Dr. intersection when the vehicle was rear-ended by a van. The roadway was packed with snow.

While it was a minor accident, Lt. Eilert noted that this serves as a reminder to slow down and pay attention. “Begin to slow down long before you need to actually come to a stop,” he said.

Use caution while driving on snow-packed and icy roads.
