The Clay Center Public Recreation Department’s Adult Volleyball League is close to wrapping up its season. The last regular season games will be held this Sunday and will be followed by an elimination style tournament on February 18th.

This is the 6th year the Clay Center Public Recreation Department, or CCPRD, has offered an adult volleyball league, which runs from January to February. Pat Hayes, the superintendent of the CCPRD, says they currently do not offer any other adult sports programs partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic:

Hayes lists a lack of public knowledge or interest in the programs as another inhibiting factor to offering more programs. Despite this, Hayes says he and the CCPRD are open to exploring new activities:

Though a Clay Center adult summer volleyball league has not been confirmed, Hayes says he and the CCPRD are always looking for new programs to keep the community active, and welcome suggestions.
