Today, Kansas will host its annual Statewide Tornado Drill as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
In previous years, the drill occurred on Tuesdays but has been rescheduled to Wednesdays this year to align with the weekly NOAA weather radio test. The drill, featuring a simulated tornado warning, will take place at 11 a.m. The National Weather Service will trigger a Routine Weekly Test (RWT) on NOAA Weather Radios to initiate the drill.
During the drill, tornado sirens will be activated by cities and counties.
