Secretary of State Scott Schwab wants to remind Kansans that tonight at 5:00 p.m. the election night reporting webpage will go live on the Secretary of State’s website to provide preliminary election outcomes. The official results of the election will only be accessible once the County Board of Canvassers and the State Board of Canvassers have validated the election and all votes, including provisional ones, have been tallied.

This is the first state-run Presidential Preference Primary in Kansas since 1992.

“This election is a historic time for our state,” Schwab said. “I hope Kansans find the election reporting website a useful resource. Polls across the state close at 7:00 p.m. local time, after which unofficial results will begin to be viewable on our webpage.”

After the results have been validated, each political party will convert the votes received from the Presidential Preference Primary into delegate votes at their party conventions. These conventions are governed by the political parties themselves and are conducted according to their established delegate plans.

“Happy Election Day Kansans; go out and vote,” Schwab said.
