K-State secured its first Big 12 road series win, extending its winning streak to eight with a 6-5 victory over Houston. Head coach Pete Hughes praised the team’s resilience, citing their ability to rally consistently. The Wildcats (16-6, 4-1 Big 12) erased a three-run deficit with four unanswered runs in the eighth inning. Blake Dean earned his first collegiate win, retiring seven of nine batters faced. Seven Wildcats contributed hits, with Chuck Ingram delivering the game-winning RBI. K-State capitalized on Houston’s errors, tying the series at one each. The Wildcats maintained their dominance, winning all five series this season. They sit second in the Big 12 standings with a 4-1 record. K-State aims for the sweep in the series finale on Sunday.
