Geraldine Bushell, 91 of Moundridge, Kansas, died on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Pine Village in Moundridge, Kansas. She was born on May 20, 1932 in Cloud County, Kansas, the daughter of Eddie and Leona (Charbonneau) Chaput.
She grew up south of Clyde, Kansas and was baptized at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Geraldine graduated from Clyde High School. After graduation, she worked at a bank in Concordia. She married Paul Bushell on November 30, 1952. The couple farmed north of Clay Center before moving to Clay Center after retiring from farming. Paul preceded her in death on October 10, 2012. Geraldine later worked as a bus driver for USD 379. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center. Geraldine was also preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers, Edward, Lloyd, Bernard, Virgil, Donald and Dennis Chaput and 4 sisters, Rosella Edmond, Pearl Woellhof, Rita Rott and Gloria Pearson.
She is survived by her son, Eric and wife, Kim Bushell of Clay Center, Kansas; daughter, Julie Nightengale; 3 grandchildren, Alicia (Mike) Butman, CoreyAnn (Dennis) Hunt and Nicholas (Amanda) Nightengale; 3 great grandchildren, Haley, Tate and Elizabeth Butman; 2 step great grandchildren, Karlee and Able Hunt, and her sister, Joyce and her husband, Gene Bergstrom of Pocatella, Idaho.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:30AM at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Interment will be in the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery at Greenwood in Clay Center, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the Autism Society and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
