On Wednesday, March 27th, U.S. Representative Sharice Davids hosted a roundtable discussion in Olathe about the accomplishments and challenges farmers and producers face in Kansas. She was joined by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small, Former Kansas Senator Pat Roberts, Kansas Secretary of Agriculture Mike Beam, and other policymakers.
Rep. Davids said she’s new to the agriculture space, and with the reauthorization of the Farm Bill, she said she wanted to learn as much as she could and talk to farmers and ranchers whose everyday lives are affected.
Rep. Davids said that she is optimistic that the Farm Bill will pass.
Rep. Davids said she wants people to know the work is getting done, and that she is focused on supporting Kansas resources.
