Marysville’s historic Union Pacific depot turns 95 this month and invites the public to commemorate its legacy. The Marysville Union Pacific Depot Preservation Society and the Marysville Chamber & Main Street, will host a mixer on April 11th from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the new Marysville city administrator, Josh Haverkamp while at the event.
A temporary exhibit, “All Set For The West,” from the Union Pacific Railroad Museum in Council Bluffs, Iowa, spotlighting architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood will be on display throughout April. Underwood designed Union Pacific depots, including Marysville’s, and designed lodges in western national parks.
As part of the celebration, donation envelopes will be provided for those interested in contributing to the depot’s ongoing preservation efforts. The event’s meal will feature cowboy-inspired dishes like beans, barbecue sliders, and cowboy caviar. Finishing the meal off with a birthday cake.
