On the evening of April 2, the Clay Center City Council held their regular meeting. Topics discussed include upcoming CCLIP projects, Clay County General Public Transportation, and a new Car Wash at Short Stop #1.
The meeting began with a status report from Clay County General Public Transportation Operations Manager Don Wright.
The Council then unanimously voted to rezone 539 Clarke St from a residential property to a commercial one. The plot is attached to the Short Stop gas station on the intersection of Highways 15 and 24. Alison Leiszler of the Leiszler Oil Company told the Council that Leiszler Oil plans to build a new car wash on the property.
Councilmember Daton Hess reported that construction on the 2024 CCLIP project will begin on April 29 and end on July 28. Construction will take place on Highway 15 from Sherman to Garfield Streets and traffic will be periodically restricted to a single lane.
