On the evening of April 10, the Wakefield Library hosted local author Doris Johnson for a meet and greet and presentation on her books.
Johnson grew up in Brewster, Kansas, and now lives in Abilene. She has published six books, three of which recount her family’s history and experiences during the early 1900’s through the 1940s.
Johnson also recounted memories of her time in the Philippines through her book Philippine Experiences of a Kansas Farm Girl, and discussed her children’s book ‘Chaco.’
The presentation wrapped up with a group discussion on writing tips, advice, and family history.
