Fort Hays State University has renewed its five-year certification for the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Quality Standards. The recertification follows a thorough 91-point self-inspection review and an on-site assessment conducted by a team of USDLA examiners. The evaluation, which centered on FHSU Online’s administrative, student support, infrastructure, leadership, management, and teaching and learning practices, reaffirms the university’s commitment to excellence in distance education. FHSU Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Leadership, Dennis King, expressed his satisfaction with the five-year recertification.

During the USDLA team’s two-day visit, they met with over 30 individuals from Fort Hays State University, including faculty, staff, and students. Attendees ranged from executive and student affairs leadership to members of the Teaching Innovation and Learning Technologies (TILT) team, FHSU Online staff and students, Forsyth Library staff, academic department chairs, deans, and the University Marketing group.

FHSU Online Director Kayla Hickel said that it served as a well-deserved recognition for the talented individuals at FHSU who consistently deliver exceptional online learning experiences.
