On Sunday, the Kansas Sampler Foundation revealed a transformation in the Big Kansas Road Trip’s structure, aiming to encourage more exploration within the state.

The Big Kansas Road Trip, established six years ago, was intended to offer the public direct encounters in rural communities, allowing these towns an opportunity to display their identity and offerings. Between May 2-5, numerous Kansans attended events and visited attractions in Ellsworth and Lincoln Counties, as well as the Lucas community.

Beginning in August, the event will evolve into several single-day “pop-up” experiences spread across the year, paving the way for more exploration opportunities in various regions of the state. The first pop-up is scheduled for Aug. 24 in Blue Rapids, where Explorers are welcomed to partake in a variety of exploration activities as part of the Blue Rapids’ Fun Day Festival.
