Clay Center Resident Lori Martin Featured On The Price Is Right

By Quinn O’Hara

A Clay Center resident was featured as a contestant on The Price Is Right game show on Wednesday, May 8.

Clay Counts Coalition Leader, former Elementary School Teacher, and Community Mobilizer Lori Martin was selected from the audience to try her luck at the Lucky Seven game and spinning the big wheel during a taping of the popular show.

Martin said attending the taping was a last minute decision meant to fill time during her family’s spring break vacation in Los Angeles.

Martin even managed to snag a few prizes during the show, including a brand new Volkswagen Taos SE. Martin said after her time on stage she had to pay 7% of her winnings to the State of California. She also said that instead of driving the Taos all the way back to Kansas, she was offered a check for the retail price of the car, which she agreed to. Martin said her winnings will go to a savings account and benefit future family expenses.
