The Clay Center Aquatic Park is gearing up to open its doors for the season. The over 380,000 gallons of water have been added to the pool and crews have been cleaning and setting the area up.

Aquatic Park Manager Rayleen Dreher said she starts getting ready for the season in February and they are about 80% ready for opening day on May 27th.

“Our projected opening will be Memorial Day. Our hours will be short that day, from 1:00 to 5:00, and then our regular hours starting the next day will be Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 7:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 7:00. We do offer Aquatic exercises Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., that also includes walking the Lazy River and lap swimming during that time.”

Dreher said there are three different season pass options including a family pass, single swimmer pass, or aquatic exercise pass. There is also the option of paying for a single day.

“As far as getting season passes, there are two ways you can do that. You can do it online through the City of Clay Center rec desk, or you can do it in person.”

You can get more information and keep up to date with possible closings or delays by following the Aquatic Park Facebook Page.
