MANHATTAN, Kan. – Carla Bernat, the first All-American in Kansas State women’s golf history, received another accolade, being named a Third Team All-American by Golfweek. Bernat was previously honored as a Second Team All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association of America.
Golfweek named only 10 players to each of its first, second, and third teams, with Bernat among four Big 12 golfers recognized and one of two on the first, second, or third team. She also earned a unanimous selection to the Coaches’ All-Big 12 team.
In her first season with the Wildcats, the junior from Castellon, Spain, set a single-season school record with a 70.90 scoring average, secured two victories, and helped the Wildcats achieve a new team scoring average record. Bernat is currently ranked 27th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
