KANSAS CITY – Adam Frazier’s nine-pitch at-bat against Luis Castillo in the second inning sparked the Royals’ 8-4 win over the Mariners on Saturday at Kauffman Stadium. Frazier fouled off six consecutive pitches before hitting a 95.8 mph fastball for his second homer of the year.

Frazier’s homer was part of an eight-run offensive outburst. The Royals (39-26) showed resilience, answering each Mariners (36-30) score with runs of their own. Alec Marsh allowed four runs in five innings with eight strikeouts.

Salvador Perez’s RBI single matched the Mariners’ first-inning run. Frazier’s double and Nick Loftin’s RBI single in the fifth helped retake the lead, and Vinnie Pasquantino’s double added two more runs. Kyle Isbel’s two-run double in the sixth sealed the game.

Frazier’s recent performance improved his batting average to .309 over the last 20 games, demonstrating the value of his approach and adjustments.
