The Oscar Meyer Wienermobile is set to hit Topeka for two visits this month. The first will be on Thursday, June 20 at Dillons at Fairlawn Plaza from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The second will take place Sunday, June 23 at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Wienermobile first debuted on the streets of Chicago in 1936 by Carl Meyer, the nephew of the company’s founder. The mobile took a brief retirement in 1940 during WWII due to gas rationing but returned in 1952 with five new vehicles that took to the streets of America. The design has changed and improved over the years to become the iconic vehicle we all know today. Vehicles are now equipped with “hotdoggers” ready to serve eager customers a taste of Oscar Meyer out of the classic mobile wiener. To track the Wienermobile year-round, check out WhereMyDogs@.
