WICHITA – Wichita State track and field and cross country teams placed 10 student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday. The Academic All-District Team honors the nation’s top student-athletes for their performances in both athletics and academics.
The Wichita State men selected are Bryan Haney, Adam Rzentkowski, Luke Porter, Hudson Bailey, and Caden Carlson. The women are Marissa Jensen, Tess Roman, Chidera Okoro, Mattelyn Swartz, and Sydney Brown.
To qualify, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and be a sophomore or older.
Selected athletes and their GPAs:
– Hudson Bailey: 3.68 (Computer Science)
– Caden Carlson: 3.82 (Aerospace Engineering)
– Bryan Haney: 3.67 (Sport Management)
– Luke Porter: 3.93 (Exercise Science)
– Adam Rzentkowski: 3.56 (Business Administration, graduate program)
– Sydney Brown: 3.70 (General Studies – Biology)
– Marissa Jensen: 3.87 (Exercise Science)
– Chidera Okoro: 3.81 (Computer Science)
– Tess Roman: 3.97 (Industrial Engineering)
– Mattelyn Swartz: 3.87 (Elementary Education)
