Next month crew members with High Plains Resources plan to start drilling and testing for hydrogen in Washington County near the Clay County line. The site location will be near First and Yankee Roads.
Jason Rayburn, High Plains Land Manager, said the Pad was built and completed about a month ago. The next step will be moving all equipment and materials to the location, which can take several weeks.
Rayburn said area residents should not see much impact with travel. The location is not a highly traveled area.
Once testing is completed, crew members will tear down the site. The next step in the process will depend on whether the well produces hydrogen.
