MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State’s men’s basketball alumni team, Purple Reign, will compete in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) for a $1 million prize. The Wichita Regional games will be held from July 20-24 at Koch Arena.
Purple Reign, the No. 4 seed, will face No. 5 Team Colorado on July 20 at 1 p.m. CT on FS2. A win would advance them to face either No. 1 Aftershocks or No. 8 Midtown Prestige on July 22 at 8 p.m. CT on FS1. Other teams in the regional include Mass Street, Florida TNT, LA Cheaters, and Ram Up.
Organized by Jordan Henriquez-Roberts, Purple Reign features K-State stars like Jacob Pullen, Cartier Diarra, and Xavier Sneed. Henriquez-Roberts, Curtis Kelly, and Clent Stewart coach the team.
The tournament’s 64-team field is single-elimination, with the winner of the Wichita Regional moving on to face the Houston Regional champion. The championship game is on August 4 on FOX. For more information, visit TheTournament.com.
