The last day of regular swimming is August 11th, which coincides with the first day of school for USD 379 on August 14th.
Through that time, the pool is open 12-7 p.m. on weekdays and 1-7 on weekends. The location also hosts a night swim on Tuesdays. Admission is $1 to swim between 8:15 and 9:45 p.m.
After the 11th, it will open for three subsequent weekends.
Aquatic Park director, Rayleen Dreher, said this is the first time the 10-year-old facility will offer additional swimming hours after its regular season.
Clay Center Aquatic Park to Remain Open on Weekends Through Labor Day
By Ryan Duey
This summer Clay Center Aquatic Park will remain open on the weekends through Labor Day, bucking the trend of closing the weekend before the beginning of the school year. Offering extra swimming opportunities through August.
Rayleen Dreher, Aquatic Park Manager, said this is the first time since the opening of the new pool 10 years ago that they will stay open later.
Dreher said that while they may not be able to open every feature on those days, solely being based on staffing, there will still be water to swim. Additionally, they will still offer Exercise classes throughout the week.
Dreher said they will keep patrons up to date and on top of what will occur during this new process on their Facebook page.
