MANHATTAN, Kan. – Travis Geopfert, a four-time USTFCCCA National Assistant Coach of the Year, has been named the Director of Track and Field/Cross Country at Kansas State. Geopfert, previously at Arkansas, will be the seventh full-time director in K-State history.
Geopfert’s appointment was announced by Director of Athletics Gene Taylor on July 11. He agreed to a five-year contract approved by the K-State Athletics Board of Directors and President Richard Linton.
Geopfert, who has 22 years of coaching experience, will be formally introduced at a news conference on July 15. His coaching career includes stints at Arkansas, Tennessee, and Northern Iowa, where he achieved significant success, including coaching multiple national champions and Olympians.
Geopfert expressed enthusiasm about joining K-State and looks forward to building on the program’s storied history.
