MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State right-handed pitchers Tyson Neighbors and Jackson Wentworth, along with second baseman Brady Day, were selected on the second day of the 2024 MLB Draft. Neighbors was picked by the San Diego Padres in the 4th round (118th overall), Wentworth by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 5th round (158th overall), and Day by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 10th round (312th overall).

This marks the first time K-State had three players chosen in the first five rounds. K-State tied its program record with four picks in the first 10 rounds. Neighbors, a two-time All-Big 12 pick, led the bullpen with nine saves in 2024. Wentworth, an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, struck out 115 hitters this season and contributed to a no-hitter. Day, an All-Big 12 First Team honoree, improved his draft status after being selected by the Braves last year and led the Wildcats in several offensive categories.
