The Clay Center City Council met on July 16th for their regular meeting. Many things were discussed including the new streets, researching the processes for possible address and street name changes, Revenue Neutral Rate, and more.

A motion was made to authorize the Mayor to sign the final contract with McCown Gordon Construction for the Multi-Generational Life Center. The motion passed unanimously.

Councilor Sweet reported that the Administrative Committee met with Department Heads to review the 2025 budgets, and all went well.

Councilor E. Hess reported that building permits were issued to residents and businesses for additions to their homes including: porches, sunrooms, sheds, and garages.

Councilor E. Hess also reported that after thorough inspections by the City and Engineers with Kaw Valley, it was determined that 14 newly poured ADA ramps were not up to standards. Kaw Valley determined that the contractors did not follow the plans. The ADA ramps will be redone at no cost to the City.

Councilor Kasper reported that the well at the Fairgrounds has been dug for the Sprinkler project.
