A total of 16 former Wildcats are competing professionally in 2024, with three in MLB, and others spread across Triple-A, Double-A, High-A, and independent leagues. Notably, Kaelen Culpepper made history as the first K-State positional player selected in the first round of the MLB Draft, going 21st overall to the Minnesota Twins. Additionally, five Wildcats were selected in the 2024 MLB Draft, marking the program’s highest draft class since 2011. Meanwhile, 20 returning or incoming players are honing their skills in summer leagues across the country. This summer participation underscores the program’s growing presence in professional baseball, with both seasoned veterans and emerging talent making significant strides on the field. K-State’s baseball future looks promising with this blend of professional and collegiate athletes.
